Editing/Proofreading
As with any translation, we will discuss with the client the intended use or purpose of the translation, target audience/country, and any other pertinent information. We will then assign the appropriate native speaking editor for the job.
Another example of employing our editing/proofreading services is when a client who has had a document translated in-house or perhaps from another vendor and is looking to have the translation reviewed and edited for accuracy, style and overall correctness.
The goal here is to ensure that the translation is true to the source language document and adheres to the client’s objectives. An example is a public relations firm that has chosen to translate a press release from English into Spanish on behalf of its client. The firm understands that their in-house translation was done by a non-professional translator and thus requires the trained eye of qualified editor/translator.
In addition to editing, we offer proofreading services that involve a less detailed review of the content of a translation. In this case, we will check spelling and grammar and also ensure that no original text was left out in the original translation process. |
